Weekly Review #17 and #18 The Bare Minimum

This is a double-header review covering two weeks as I was busy helping a relative get into a new living situation and little time was left for working out with any meaning but dieting was respectfully acknowledged.

This is the end of the 18th week for me of a new lifestyle of healthy eating and lots of exercise. This weekly review combines weeks 17 and 18. This is because the last two weeks were so not about dieting and exercise.

I was helping one of my relatives move into assisted living. This took a lot of time and energy to do. I was completely centered on getting their new set up to work for them.  I also had to fit my regular work into everything as well. I did not have the time, focus and energy to be there for someone’s transition AND maintain strict dieting and exercise guidelines.

The only thing I could do was watch what I ate and I did do that. You see when time is limited then sadly exercise often takes a backseat. Dieting does not time really so that is the only thing I could do. However, I wasn’t perfect with the wine consumption. As is often the case when I’m stressed I turn to Cabernet for support and there would be extra calories and liver not processing fats blah blah blah wine bad, wine bad, wine bad.

Looking at the calendar we see the first week started on Sunday with a nice workout monkey sticker. Then there are none. There are no smiley stickers for good diet days and no monster stickers for cheat meals. I just didn’t stick them anywhere. The following week there are is one monkey sticker on Saturday which was when I really had the time to workout. I feel that this monkey sticker represents a healthier week ahead of me.

I’m not going to weigh myself. Even Weight Watchers allows folks to skip weigh-ins occasionally. I got thrown off my healthy routine again. I had plenty of opportunity to make the last two weeks very unhealthy and fattening. I was stressed, tired and emotional. Plus I was downtown surrounded by pizza slices, potato chips and leftover Halloween candy. I had none of them.

I really, really missed my healthy routine. But the good news is that the next few weeks I can have it back again.  Until then, be well and thank you.
